All of your treatments will take place in a private and comfortably warm therapy room. You will lie on a massage table equipped with a full-length heating pad for your comfort, and will be properly draped at all times with only the area being worked on exposed.

A massage treatment varies from 30, 60, to 90 minutes depending upon the client’s needs. Massage is traditionally performed with the client unclothed, however, you may decide to wear whatever amount of clothing suits your comfort. The therapist will leave the room while you get prepared lying down on the massage table covering with a sheet and blanket. An unscented, water-soluble, hypoallergenic massage gel will be used during the session.

Swedish Massage - the most common form of relaxation massage. Soft music will play as you receive your massage. Soothing comfortable strokes will be used during your massage session that will help improve circulation, increase flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue as well as stress. This treatment leaves you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Neuromuscular Therapy - is distinguished from other types of massage therapy in that it addresses  trigger points. “Trigger Points” are irritated tissue that causes the person to feel that pain is coming from somewhere else. They cause sensations of burning, cold or grabbing. Neuromuscular therapy focuses on relieving Trigger Point’s by applying appropriate static pressure. The therapist may use her fingers, thumbs, elbow or Hot stones to achieve a trigger point release. Correct pressure allows the referral pattern or spot tenderness to diminish. When the pain is significantly reduced, the pressure is released.

Hot Stone Massage - is a variation on classic massage therapy and is known for it’s healing properties The heat from the stones warms and relaxes the muscles. This treatment is suited for people who tend to feel chilly. People who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage have also received benefits from this treatment. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist to work the muscles without using deep pressure. The therapist always holds the stones before touching them to your body, which ensures that the temperature will not be too hot. Everyone, however, has their own comfort range. The therapist will check on your comfort level before the stones are applied. The massage therapist will apply massage gel to the body, which allows the hot stones to glide smoothly along the muscles. The warmth of the hot stones improves circulation and calms the nervous system. Many people find hot stone massage to be comforting and get it for relaxation.

Deep Tissue Massage - unlike a Swedish massage this treatment focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. The massage is similar to a Swedish massage but the strokes are slower and the pressure is deeper, the treatment is concentrated on areas of tension and pain.  Where there’s chronic muscle tension or injury, there’s usually adhesions in muscles. Deep tissue massage breaks down these adhesions using direct deep pressure or cross fiber friction applied across the grain of the muscles. At certain points during the massage the client may feel some discomfort and pain. It is important to let your therapist know what your comfort range is. There is usually some stiffness or pain after this treatment, but should subside within a day or two. This treatment is often used for stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.

Fibromyalgia and Massage - this treatment takes a specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief that brings balance between the musculoskeletal system and central nervous system. It aims to get at the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms. A gentle method of relaxing the muscles, it treats one layer at a time. A comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation techniques, slow soothing massage strokes, and hot stones therapy are used during this treatment. This treatment can be preformed on the body as a whole or a specific area that needs addressing. The therapist will often communicate with the client during the massage session to ensure their comfort level.

Loving Pregnancy Massage - is specifically tailored to expectant mom’s needs, also called pre-natal massage. This is a popular complementary therapy during pregnancy for backaches, fatigue, tension, headaches, muscle cramping and swelling of hands, legs and feet. It also offers complete relaxation. A special cushion is used with a “breakaway tummy” to support the pelvic area while lying on your stomach. You will be properly draped while the therapist is working, except for the area being massaged. (NOTE:  Second and third trimester only. Prior to massage, your physician’s written permission is required.)

Your treatment may involve any one or a combination of the therapies mentioned.  This does not replace the need for medical treatment, and in some cases, may require your physician’s permission. All work and information between the client and therapist is strictly confidential and paced at the client’s comfort level. Our goal is to enhance overall vitality and well being.
